the band
jimmy anderson-jimmy has been playing guitar and writing songs since age 12. he played in rock and blues bands all over the southeast for more than 30 years before finally settling into the blues full time. he has had absolutely no formal training, and also taught himself keyboards, drums, bass, digeradoo, and the quintessential blues instrument, the autoharp. in 2008, he and long time bassist dave tregunna formed jabb, and began writing songs. the resulting cd: long train a comin’, was released in early 2009, to critical acclaim (we think), and the rest is, as they say, history…

alex horvath-alex joined the corporate world after graduating college, and quickly realized that the 9-5 world (a.m. at least) wasn’t for him. rather than become a statistic, he decided to take a vow of poverty and become a musician. for years he honed his chops andplayed as a solo musician to small audiences in the atlanta area. a long time friend to jimmy, he answered the call in 2008, and became the second guitarist for jabb. in addition to providing amazingly solid rhythm mayhem, he provides soulful vocals, vocal guitar solos, and handles teleprompter duties.

dave tregunna-dave began playing bass in his early teens, and toured with regional bands as he served his country and put himself through school. for over 25 years, he and jimmy have been making music (a lot of it jazz, a lot of it blues). little else is known about him...he is an enigma. there are times when he can’t even remember his own name (possibly shell shock from his service to country, possibly a lot of years of loud amps...we don’t know), but he lives and breathes the blues. in 2008, he emerged from the witness protection program, and brought the low end to jabb. in addition to bass (guitar, not fish) duties, he sings and loads his own gear.

george coleman-george started playing the drums in the late seventies. while his first love, disco, was already in it’s twilight, he nonetheless found inspiration in other types of music. whether playing funk, jazz, rock or blues, there is no one more solid than george. from an artistic family, his tasteful style brings the best elements from all genres together in a powerful, precise beat that has been the backbone of jabb since 2008. in addition to drumming duties, george provides the bass vocals for the group, as well as fulfilling the bodybuilding requirement (standard in most contracts) for the rest of the band.

blues where it counts

for 30 years, guitarist jimmy anderson has been playing music all over the southeast united states. he has explored many different genres from rock to jazz, top 40 to heavy metal, even some disco (omg!), but has always returned to his roots…the blues.

born during the great depression to a poor black family, he started playing guitar on the front porch while he waited for his daddy to come home from the fields…wait, that’s somebody else…but you wouldn’t know it to listen to the soul that fills his writing.

in 2008, he and bassist dave tregunna (not his real name) began looking for musicians to form a blues band with a fresh new style. guitarist alex horvath (yes, that’s his real name) and drummer george coleman (again, real) , would become the final pieces to what would soon be the best blues band in the country… (just ask them).

with influences such as albert king, bb king, stevie ray vaughn, jimi hendrix, luther allison, buddy guy, robert cray, mark knopfler, eric clapton, (I know…wow!), the band’s sound is like no other, and they plan on proving that to you for the next thirty or forty years, if you’ll have them.
